SKIDDO gives you a driver. Put it on a groove, press play, and it is already doing something. The control you actually turn is DRIFT, how hard the car pushes the corner. A gentle corner stays subtle. A full drift scatters the grains and becomes an event the moment traction breaks. And it happens on a corner, at a place in the bar, not at a random moment.
The device records the last four seconds of whatever is playing. Left is the oldest, right the newest, and one lap is a sweep through the last seconds of your track. LAP locks the lap to 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars. GRID snaps the reading to 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2, and the blur becomes a stutter that lands in time. BUFFER freezes the recording and the car keeps running over it.

Nine controls and ten presets, from a gentle slide to a full stutter. TONE and GRIT act on the whole signal, not only the wet part, so with MIX at zero the car is still audible. Both are transparent at their defaults: a device dropped on a track does not colour it. Everything automatable, and it keeps driving in the render. One file, with the manual in English and Portuguese inside.
What a great product, it's easy to use, intuitive, and makes coming up with chords, basslines, and melodies much faster. A really useful addition to my library.

I make Max for Live devices and I make my own records. I wanted a granular that did something before I touched it. SKIDDO does, and keeps doing it in the render, with nobody watching.

Only GRID and LAP: without the transport there is no beat to lock to, and GRID falls back to free instead of pretending. The rest works with the transport stopped.
Yes. It keeps driving with nobody watching, so it works in a rendered mix and under automation. Every control shows up in Live's automation list and takes MIDI.
No. The 4-second buffer lives inside the DSP, and that is what makes two copies of the device independent without setting anything up. That is the price: the interface never draws what it captured.
Up to 16 grains at once. At high density they shorten on their own instead of being cut mid-way. After loading, it stays quiet for an instant while the buffer fills.
Live 11, no. It needs Live 12 with Max for Live, on either system. Live Intro and Live Lite cannot run Max for Live devices. No internet, account or key. Instant download through Gumroad: one file, with the manual in English and Portuguese inside.
