You have four good bars. You open Operator, start working on the bass, go back to the clip, and the line that used to move no longer moves. You try the lead. Same thing.
MONO ENGINE solves both halves at once. Pick the style, the sound and the scale, press GENERATE. The line shows up as a MIDI clip, and Operator receives the bass patch, ready, in the same instant.
What it does not do is here too: for the lead and the synth it writes the notes, and you put in whatever instrument you like.
ELEMENT decides what comes out now: Bass, Lead or Synth. STYLE picks between Tech House, Minimal Deep Tech, Peak Time and Rolling Bass. BASS picks the sound, out of twenty. The clip shows up with pattern, notes, velocity and length, in the key and scale you set. It is ordinary MIDI: edit it, cut it, throw half of it away.
On a phone, the panel shows in two parts, top to bottom.
RANDOM writes from what the style usually does, and is there to get off zero fast. SYNC writes from patterns measured on 877 reference lines, 528 bass, 191 synth and 158 lead, split by style: which step of the bar the note lands on, how long it holds, where the accent is. No loop is copied. What lives inside the device is probability, not notes.
DENS and VAR are how much the line plays and how much it changes. SWING and GROOVE start neutral. BARS sets the length, and TO ARRANGEMENT sends the clip straight to the timeline instead of the Session.

I make Max for Live devices and I make my own records. MONO ENGINE and Harmony Engine are the same bench, and I use both in the same session: one for the harmony, the other for the bass that sits on top of it.

No. Only the bass, in Operator. For the lead and the synth it writes the MIDI and you point the clips at the instrument you already use.
Yes. It ships with Live Suite. Without Operator the MIDI clips are still written, but the bass sound is not.
No. It needs Live 12.1 or newer, with Max for Live. Live Intro and Live Lite cannot run Max for Live devices, any of them. If that is your version, do not buy.
Every GENERATE is a new line in the same vocabulary of the style. To only vary a little what is already there, turn VAR. And SYNC mode copies nobody's loop: the 877 reference files became probability, and none of them can be rebuilt from the device.
